What is a Silkscreen?
Screen printing or silkscreen, also known as serigraphy, is a method of creating an image on paper, fabric or some other object by pressing ink through a screen with areas blocked off by a stencil.
What’s the difference between Silkscreen and Digital printing?
The first one involves creating a stencil or “screen”, and then using it to apply layers of ink on the paper. Each color is applied using a different stencil, one at a time, combined to achieve the final look. Digital printing is a much newer process that involves the artwork being processed by a computer, and then printed directly onto the surface .
Screen printing is the best option for designs that require a high level of vibrancy, when printing on dark surfaces, or for specialty designs. The ink in screen printing is applied thicker than digital printing, which results in brighter colors even on darker papers.
NOTE: This Silkscreen contains a layer of Pink Neon ink.
